Alectrona’s Sun

Alectrona, Goddess of the Sun. It is thought that she may have been known as the Goddess of Morning or ‘waking from slumber.’ These pieces are a study of being present in time and space.

Each painting is inspired by the quiet nature of the agate stone and the reflection of Alectrona’s Sun. A study on an individual stone, encapsulating its essence of color fluidity, extends as a visual meditation. The overlay of gold metallic enamel paint and 22k gold leaf creates a portal of light to reflect nature in its present moment.

The interconnectivity of mind, body and inner self with that of natural form and material sings us a song to remember why we are here. The connection of the viewer to the visual meditation piece is an individual experience and each piece is considered to have its own quiet voice for visual reflection.
